18 Karat Pearl and Turquoise Drop Earrings

Description

We made these earrings as soon as we saw the beautifully cut turquoise flowers. Once we found the right kind of South Seas pearl to match, we went to work.

This is the result. These are one-of-a-kind, (almost) impossible to reproduce, and exclusive to Atelier Lou Bijouterie. Made right here in our Montreal workshop.

Handmade 18 karat yellow gold shepherd’s hooks
12.5 mm turquoise precision shaped and polished by master lapidaries
11 mm white South Seas pearls
Weight: 4.6 grams (each)
Length: 38 mm

Turquoise is the birthstone for December. The name comes from the French for Turkish. According to some sources, the origin of the stone is Turkmenistan via Turkey. Some of the most beautiful examples come from Arizona and Nevada.
