Description
Eexpanding on its Great Americans series Shinola introduces the limited-edition Elijah McCoy Pocket Watch. Inspired by the classic locomotives McCoy invented for, this unique pocket watch comes to life with a matte black finish, gold accents, and spirited red flourishes. A full exhibition case back reveals the complex inner workings of the manual wind movement inside.
On your person or sitting nestled on its custom wooden stand, the Real McCoy will always be the timekeeper and muse you can count on. Limited to 350 pieces.
The rounded square case of this 39mm timepiece is crafted from polished stainless steel with brushed sides and is finished with a sapphire crystal. Handle your hand-wound mechanical watch with care. To preserve time keeping accuracy, keep it away from magnetic fields and shield it from strong impact that could permanently disrupt the movement.
The domed dial features painted numerals which echo the style of sign painters.
As one of the world’s first Black American inventors, Elijah McCoy’s journey of triumph lives on in our language as synonymous with perfection: ‘The Real McCoy,’ a colloquialism popularized by demand for his superior locomotive oiler. This year, we honor McCoy’s prolific legacy of craftsmanship with the latest in our Great Americans Series, the manual-wind Elijah McCoy Pocket Watch.

Shinola’s production line combines meticulous hand-assembly with advanced technology to ensure that their watches are both beautiful and built to last. Their factory assembles between 500 and 700 watches per day with more than 30 people participating in the assembly of a single watch. Shinola also has its very own in-house leather factory, where many of their leather watch straps are sewn. All watches come with a lifetime guarantee.
