Description

Since the beginning of Seiko in 1881, the company has continued to innovate in line with the founder’s philosophy to be “Always one step ahead of the rest.” In 1924, the company introduced the first wristwatch with Seiko on the dial, signifying the beginning of the Seiko brand. The year 2024 marks the 100th anniversary of this landmark event. In celebration, a third creation with a charcoal-grey colored dial is being introduced as a special edition. For 2024 Seiko introduces the new Prospex Octagon Diver.

The special edition features gold-colored accents that celebrate the anniversary year while calling to mind the many watchmaking advances that have been brought forth under the Seiko name.

In the years since it released its first diver’s watch in 1965, Seiko has developed new technologies, features, and designs that have won the favor of professional and recreational divers the world over. Through more than a half-century of innovation, the company has continuously pushed back the boundaries of where sports watches, and diver’s watches in particular, can go and how they can be used. Continuous enhancements in safety, reliability, legibility, and ease of use have made Seiko a leader in diver’s watches. For 2024 Seiko presents the Prospex 1965 Heritage Diver, with an updated automatic movement, dial, case size, and bracelet.

The dial pattern, inspired by graceful waves, evokes a serene coastal scene, enhancing the watch’ s elegance and beauty. The shape of the Lumibrite-filled hands provides legibility befitting 300 meters of water resistance, meeting the needs of divers and making it easy to check the time in the dark.

The case and bracelet radiate an elegant luster with their wide, mirrored surfaces. The polygonal bezel, composed of gently curved surfaces, creates an active and graceful impression. The design boasts excellent versatility for various occasions, from a business meeting to poolside at a resort.
