Japan’s most iconic watch brand started its journey in 1881, when Kintaro Hattori opened a small watch shop in Tokyo. Ever since that time it has been the leader in Japanese watchmaking, making Japan’s first wristwatch, its first chronograph and its first dive watch. Worldwide, Seiko has made created some of the biggest developments in watchmaking of any company. It introduced the world’s first commercial quartz in 1969, the first six-digit LCD display quartz and the first analog quartz chronograph.
