Description
Inspired by the vivid hues of the ocean, this exclusive Super Sea Wolf 53 Compression channels the beauty of the open water through bold blue tones. The newly reincarnated Super Sea Wolf Compression model carries on the daring DNA while still retaining the signature heritage design. This model features a stainless steel case, bright blue sunray dial, STP 1-11 Swiss automatic movement, 44 hr power reserve, Super-LumiNova, and black tropic-style rubber strap and is water resistant to 200 metres. And let’s not forget about ZODIAC’s screw-down caseback and crown.
First released in 1953, it is one of the watches that has defined the modern dive watch. Featuring a rotating bezel, large luminescent markers and hands, it had all of the elements needed for a diver. It was also the first watch marketed to consumers rather than specialists, with dive specific features. This modern Super Sea Wolf draws directly from the original, but with updated sizes, specs and an eye for color and style.

In a competitive market for dive watches, Zodiac stands apart from other watch manufacturers with its fearless use of colour. As early as the 1960s, Zodiac was producing watches with unusual colour combinations, such as pale blue for the bezel against a bright neon orange and black dial that jumped out among the sea of mostly conservative all-black dive watches at the time.
THE BACKSTORY
Zodiac was built on value and volume during its golden era from the ’50s to the ’70s. The watches provided an affordable tool that could stand up to the circumstances the adventurous wearers often found themselves in, be it diving, racing, or crawling through the jungle. Modern Zodiac doesn’t stray from that formula, and the watches put forth a very strong value proposition. Swiss Technology Production (STP), Fossil Group’s in-house movement manufacturer, supplies movements for many Zodiac watches. In addition, the modern designs are tasteful and thoughtful interpretations of the watches that built the Zodiac name and forged its reputation as a reliable tool watchmaker.
